Pastor Rick grew up in Gaston County, where he currently resides in Dallas, North Carolina. A native of Gaston County, Pastor Rick is happily married to Mitzi Ivey, and they have two sons:

• Kolton, who is currently serving our country in the Navy. He lives with his wife and two children in San Diego, California.

• Luke, who is currently serving in the Army and is stationed in El Paso, Texas.

 

Rick is a graduate of Emmanuel Baptist University, where he received his undergraduate degree in Theology. He holds two master’s degrees—one in Biblical Studies and one in Theology—as well as a Doctorate of Theology from the North Carolina College of Theology.

Pastor Rick has served faithfully on staff at Berea Church as the Senior Pastor since 2013. He loves to play music and sing in the church.

​

Pastor Rick’s greatest passion is the life, growth, health, and effectiveness of the local church. He believes that every local church should strive to have a significant impact for the Kingdom—beginning in the local community and reaching the world.

​

Rick was called into ministry in 1997. He has served as a Student Pastor, Pastor to Men, and Associate Pastor.

Rick's Favorite Things: Spending time with his family and kayak fishing on his kayak, which he has named "The U.S. Visitation."
